Budget Town Hall with Eileen Klein

Thank you to everyone who attended my town hall last week to discuss this year’s legislative budget.  I would like to give a special thank you to Governor Brewer’s Chief of Staff, Eileen Klein, for providing her expertise on Arizona’s 2012 economic outlook.

Since elected, I have been working diligently to streamline local and state government, create an economic environment that allows for business growth and job creation and promote education throughout Arizona.

Please keep an eye out for more town halls throughout the district in the coming months.  I look forward to seeing you and discussing issues affecting Arizona.  Thank you again for your continued support, and as always, contact me with any questions!

Remembering Dr. King

Dr. King believed in a nation of freedom, justice, and equality. He encouraged all citizens to selflessly serve their community. I encourage all Arizonans to live up to Dr. King’s vision and give back to our community. Just as Dr. King set big goals and focused relentlessly on results, we need sustained citizen action to address today’s challenges.

School tax credit donations

School tax-credit donations are a great way to directly support our school programs. The donations are used to fund extracurricular activities, such as field trips, after-school programs and athletics. Individuals can donate up to $200 and couples may contribute $400.  Contributions are tax deductible, must be received by Dec. 31 to be included in your 2011 taxes and should indicate a specific program, student or school.

Economic Priorities

As we head into the 2012 Legislative session, one of my top priorities is the economy.  Moving forward, I will continue to focus my efforts on creating jobs, increasing economic growth, and encouraging economic development.  We need to provide businesses of all sizes the stability and confidence they need to invest in Arizona’s economy.  Additionally, we can to promote small businesses by reducing taxes, red tape, and government bureaucracy.
